I was in my 7th week and miscarried, 50 days ago. I have now had 2 positive HPT and 1 negative (all taken in the last week). In pos neg pos order. Thank you for any comments. Side note, I have put a call in to my OB/GYN. Just waiting on the call back.

No hun, you would not still get a positive result from your miscarriage. Once you have expelled all the pregnancy tissue (both embryo and placenta) you stop making HCG hormone. The hormone comes from the placenta.

As for your hormone levels – unless you have had problems after the loss with tissues still left inside you which would cause lots of pain and bleeding the levels should have gone down by now. It sounds to me like you could be pregnant again! Congratulations xxx
Your hcg levels can take up to 6-8 weeks to go back down to zero, so yes, it is possible for you to still turn up a pregnancy test as a positive. However the line would probably be very faint, as your levels should be very low.
It’s possible that there is some tissue left in your uterus from your miscarriage. Until all of the tissue is 100% gone, your hcg levels won’t go back to normal. Obgyn’s usually do a follow up after a miscarriage to ensure that all of the tissue is gone. Mine told me that my period would resume within 8 weeks and if it didn’t that I’d have to come back in for another follow up. Mine did start 4 weeks later though. At your next exam they will probably ensure that no tissue is left.
Last but not least, it’s certainly possible that you’re pregnant again. After miscarrying, your uterus is completely cleansed which makes you extremely fertile. Many women become pregnant quickly after a miscarriage because of this. I’m sure this is something else your doctor would be able to tell you. No your levels would be back to normal by now, assuming everything was cleared out. Looks like you are pregnant again. Get the blood test to be sure though.
